Earlier today, the KSJC Cross Country Team took to the Crystal Springs Course in their second PSAL League Meet.  All three teams found a great deal of success going up against their fellow PSAL competition.

Up first, the Boys and Girls JV teams race began right at 3:30 PM. Jose Romero led the way for the Boys JV Team, finishing 12th overall with a time of 21:35.  Alan Casorla and Carlos Alvarez had a fantastic day, finishing 17th and 21st overall in the field of 146 runners.  Aabid Ali and Kyle Kinard closed out the scoring for the team, and KSJC finished 2nd in the JV Boys Race.  For the girls, Kaylan Ngo set her personal record for the Crystal Springs Course, while Karla Salinas gutted her way through a tough race to finish to both finish in the top ten.

At 4:00 PM, the Girls Varsity Team repeated their second place finish from last race, while improving on points.  Diana Moreno led the way again with a 6th place finish.  Marlen De La Cruz finished shortly after with an 11th place finish.  Jennifer Ortega, Viviana Moreno, and Jennifer Granados all finished in the top 20 individually, which propelled the Wolfpack to a 2nd place team finish, only behind defending State Champions, the Nueva School.  This helps strengthen their hold on 2nd place in the overall league standings as well.

Lastly, at 4:30, Boys Varsity took to the track against a stacked field.  Josue Martinez Vega and Cristian Becerra turned in a great team performance at the top of the pack, finishing 12th and 13th overall.  Kai Oda, Andre Pham, and Varsity newcomer Luis Gutierrez all came in the top 30 to close out the scoring.  With the result, Boys Varsity improved their finish from last race, moving from 5th to 4th, and moving them up the overall league standings to a tie for 4th place with Design Tech.

The next race for the team will be the Artichoke Invitational in Half Moon Bay on 10/7.  Go Wolfpack!
