Below, you will find the nominees for KSJC’s October Athlete of the Month.  Please read through the descriptions submitted by their coaches and vote below!

Jahaira Gonzalez – “As a senior captain and setter, Jahaira rarely leaves the floor in games. She has been the glue that has continued to keep our team. On the season she has 107 assists, 115 service points and 47 aces, all of which are good for first on the team and also in the top 5 of our league. She has the ability to bring together our team in a way that other leaders cannot.” – Coach Page

Lesly Guzman – “Lesly has shown incredible improvement this season.  In just a month since the first regular league meet, Lesly has improved her time by almost a full two minutes, finish the mountainous 3 mile course in 25:32 during the most recent PSAL #3 League Meet.  After finishing 27th in her first league race, she improved her standing all the way to 16th in this past race, helping the girls team secure a 5th place finish.” – Coach Hansen/McCormack

Sami Khan – “After finishing his first league meet in 20th place, Sami Khan improved his time by 21 seconds in just a month and placed in the top ten out of over 60 runners in the most recent PSAL #3 League Meet.  With the strong finish, Sami helped lead his team to a 4th place finish in their final regular season meet after finish 10th last season.”  – Coach Hansen/McCormack
