Boys Varsity Golf · Spring Awards Week – 2018 Central Coast Section Spring Scholastic Championship Team

This week, the Central Coast Section announced the 2018 Central Coast Section Spring Scholastic Championship Team Award, given to the top 5 teams in the section for each sport with the highest team grade point average (GPA).  The KIPP San Jose Collegiate Golf Team was given the award as they had the 2nd highest GPA of all the Golf teams in CCS in the Spring Season. The following is from the Central Coast Section’s press release:

“The Central Coast Section of the California Interscholastic Federation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2017-2018 Winter Season Scholastic Championship Team Awards listed below. These awards, instituted by the CCS Board of Managers in 1985, recognize the top five Varsity teams, from each Central Coast Section sport, with the highest collective grade-point-average of all teams competing in that sport during that season of competition. The student-athletes involved have achieved distinction in the classroom, and at the same time, have committed themselves to participation in interscholastic athletics. Their academic performance is yet another indication that such athletic participation enhances classroom activities. A team certificate and individual certificates will be presented to each school of each individual sport.”

We could not be more proud of our golfers for achieving this in only the 2nd year of the program.  Below you will find the list of golfers that made this possible, along with the final award winners for the golf award.  Congratulations to Coach Thomas and all our golfers!  Howl on, Wolfpack! Howl on!
