KSJC named their new Assistant Athletic Director on Wednesday, May 15th. The school has chosen Isis Diaz, a graduate KSJC Class of 2012, a current KSJC College Counselor, and the 12th Grade Level Chair. Diaz has served several roles in the Athletics Department, serving as the Fundraising Chair, Assistant JV Girls Basketball Coach, and the Assistant Varsity Golf Coach. She also frequently volunteers to help organize, supervise, and work various athletics events during the year.
Diaz had this to say about taking the role, “I am extremely grateful and excited to take on this role. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the athletics program and learn from McCormack over the last few years, and I feel incredibly honored to continue the work he began alongside Dela Rosa. While we have big shoes to fill, I am committed to continuing to build our program with Dela Rosa and our amazing coaching staff. As a KSJC alum, it is an honor to be able to do this work right here at home. I tip my hat off to McCormack with both well wishes and tremendous gratitude for all of his contributions to the KSJC community.”
When asked about Diaz, outgoing Athletic Director Ryan McCormack said this, “Ms. Diaz is a tremendous representative of the KSJC community, but particularly of our Athletics Program. Her values and practices are very much aligned with the mission of our department, and I am very excited for her to step into this role and help Dela Rosa take our program to the next level after I leave. Diaz’s exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills make her a great fit as the Assistant Athletic Director, and to have a former student be able to take leadership in the program is a proud moment for all of us.”
