Wolfpack Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Wolfpack fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 22-0 loss to Pinewood on Thursday. Pinewood scored on a fielder’s choice by Fick, an error, a single by Burton, a single by Budge, a grand slam by Haun, a fielder’s choice by Burton, and a single by Bharaiti in the first inning.
The Wolfpack struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Pinewood, giving up 22 runs.
Pinewood got things started in the first inning. Fick hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
A single by Jose Romero in the fifth inning was a positive for Wolfpack.
David Luna led things off on the hill for Wolfpack. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing 16 hits and 19 runs while walking one. Emilio Delgadillo threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.
Pinewood socked two home runs on the day. Haun had a dinger in the first inning. Fick went yard in the third inning.
Romero went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Wolfpack in hits.
Pinewood collected 21 hits. Budge, Haun, Fick, Burton, Bates, Ahrens, Bharaiti, and Bates each racked up multiple hits for Pinewood. Budge led Pinewood with four hits in four at bats. Pinewood stole four bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Haun led the way with two.
