KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-4 loss to Pinewood on Thursday. Pinewood scored on a triple by Eric Burton, an error, a fielder’s choice by Romin Vasishta, a double by Liam Smith, and a single by Burton in the first inning.
The KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pinewood, giving up 16 runs.
After KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity scored one run in the top of the second, Pinewood answered with one of their own. Pinewood then answered when an error scored one run for Pinewood.
David Luna led things off on the hill for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity. He went two innings, allowing 13 runs on five hits. Cortez threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Pinewood saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Smith and Burton each racked up multiple hits for Pinewood. Smith led Pinewood with three hits in three at bats.
