Valley Christian Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 17-3 loss to Valley Christian on Thursday. Valley Christian scored on a single by Nick Nielson, a walk by Nathaniel Perez, and a walk by Matthew Simm in the first inning.

The KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Valley Christian, giving up 17 runs.

Valley Christian scored six runs in the fourth inning. Valley Christian’s big inning was driven by singles by Rohit Ramkumar and Grant Sellick, by Simm and Parker Hughes, by Ramkumar, and an error on a ball put in play by Nielson.

Sellick took the win for Valley Christian. He surrendered three runs on three hits over five innings, striking out 13.

Joal Pena took the loss for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity. He allowed four hits and 11 runs over three innings, striking out five.
