KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Pacific Bay Christian

KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity took the lead late and defeated Pacific Bay Christian 18-17 on Tuesday. The game was tied at 13 with KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity.

A five-run lead in the eighth inning was just enough for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity to hold off Pacific Bay Christian for the victory. Pacific Bay Christian scored four runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by F O Neil, a single by A Borillo, and a single by T Pacheco.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Sola-ki-Vava’u Taimani homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity knotted the game up at 13 in the top of the seventh inning. Y Hernandez drove in one when she doubled.

Ahtziri Hernandez took the win for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity. She lasted eight innings, allowing 21 hits and 17 runs while striking out two and walking one.

B Larson took the loss for Pacific Bay Christian. She went seven innings, allowing 15 runs on 18 hits and striking out four.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Taimani had a homer in the first inning.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity racked up 22 hits on the day. Hernandez, Destiny Pena, Hernandez, Taimani, Julissa Nunez, Thuyvi Nguyen, and Shakira Aguirre each managed multiple hits for KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity. Hernandez led KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity with five hits in six at bats. Hernandez led KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack Varsity with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 stolen bases.

Pacific Bay Christian tallied 21 hits on the day. A Martinez, S Zambrano, Pacheco, Larson, Borillo, S Landham, and K Anderberg all had multiple hits for Pacific Bay Christian. Martinez went 5-for-6 at the plate to lead Pacific Bay Christian in hits.
